Founded in 2024, Dao Distribution pairs a young, responsive team with generations of Thai rice heritage, milling and grower relationships in Thailand and years of distribution experience in the U.S. We are a new company built on an old, trusted supply chain.
The founder
Andy Piamchon grew up in the rice business.
Andy's family has milled and grown rice in Thailand for generations, running their own operation and working with a network of trusted farms, and has run food distribution in the U.S. for years.
In 2024, Andy started Dao Distribution to bring that direct-from-source supply chain straight to Bay Area kitchens. Because Dao's rice comes through direct milling and grower relationships rather than a chain of importers and brokers, Dao can offer prices that beat the big distributors, and on jasmine can rival or beat locally grown California rice.
