Accessibility

Last updated September 4, 2026

Dao Distribution wants every restaurant owner and kitchen manager to be able to browse the catalog, send an order, and read their account history, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This page says what we do about that and how to reach us when something is in your way.

What we aim for

We build this site to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. In practice that means:

  • Everything you can do with a mouse you can do with a keyboard, including building and sending an order.
  • A skip link at the top of every page jumps straight to the content.
  • Headings, landmarks and form labels are marked up so screen readers can announce where you are and what a field is for.
  • Text and controls meet the contrast levels the guidelines ask for, and the site works when text is enlarged.
  • Images that carry meaning have descriptions; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
  • Order status and errors are announced, not only shown.

Where we are honest about limits

  • Sign-in and account creation use a form provided by Clerk, our authentication provider. We style it, but we do not control its internals.
  • The delivery-area map is a visual aid. The same coverage is listed in plain text on the delivery page, and the office can confirm any address by phone.
  • The catalog and order builder are large, changing pages. We test them, but a problem can slip through. Tell us and we will fix it.

If something is in your way

Call or text the office, or email us, and say what you were trying to do and what happened. If the site is the obstacle, we will take your order or answer your question directly by phone or email while we fix the site. We will not treat you differently for asking.
